1. While Australia’s GDP per capital may be higher than NZ, I strongly disagree with Sarah Fitt’s claim that “NZ is not a rich country”. According to the 2021 Credit Suisse Global Wealth Report, New Zealanders have the fourth-largest median wealth per adult in the world. It is not accurate to categorise NZ as a poor country in order to justify medicine trade off decisions that negatively impact patient outcomes, and fail to provide equity to vulnerable groups such as New Zealanders living with rare disorders.
